Possible Shutdown late 2018Print

AFGE HQIn one week, if Congress does not come to a funding deal, some federal agencies will run out of money, triggering a partial government shutdown.

Federal Employees Closer to a Pay Increase for Next YearPrint

AFGE HQSeptember 17, 2018

Administrator Message: 9/11 RemembrancePrint

TSA AdministratorSeptember 11, 2018

Seventeen years ago today, our nation suffered the deadliest terrorist attack in our history, and for many of us the memories and the shock of that day are still fresh and painful.

At TSA, the anniversary of 9/11 is particularly important because 9/11 is the reason TSA exists. It reminds us that the country relies on us and our partners for protection.

Message from Secretary Kirstjen M. Nielsen on the Anniversary of the September 11th Attacks

Seventeen years ago, America was violently attacked by terrorists, forever altering our nation’s history. We will never forget the nearly 3,000 souls who perished on that fateful day. And in the years since, we have continued to honor their memory by resolving to dismantle and destroy terrorist organizations, wherever they may hide, so that no family—and no nation—has to again suffer what so many experienced on September 11th, 2001.

Despite the tragic loss of life, the 9/11 attacks brought the American people together, demonstrating to the world our relentless resolve. We saw real heroism as brave first responders ran toward the danger. Individuals donated their time and money to survivors and families of the victims. And citizens waited in lines around the block to give blood.

Another Union Win: OPM Orders Agencies to Comply with CourtPrint

AFGE HQAs a direct result of our unions leadership in the lawsuit against three union-busting, democracy-busting executive orders, and the resulting injunction we won in court, the Office of Personnel Management has ordered agencies to comply with the judge’s ruling and restore employees’ legal right to representation.

This is a huge victory for AFGE members, all working people, and every American who believes in a functional, efficient civil service.

My Commitment to Our Mission and Our PeoplePrint

TSA AdministratorYou may have seen recent media reports about budget reductions across TSA impacting workforce and benefits. I know these reports have created anxiety throughout the agency and I’d like to address some of that confusion.

Shutdown 2018Print

AFGE NEVADAIt’s been a while, but a shutdown has again been in the talks if a budget is not passed.

Guidance has been provided to inform the workforce of how to prepare for the occurrence of a government shutdown.

Shutdown Averted, for NowPrint

AFGE HQDecember 11, 2017

Thanks to negotiations between Congress and the administration, a continuing resolution has been passed to stop the government from shutting down. The deal keeps the federal government open until December 22, and allows the more than 850,000 potentially furloughed working people to continue to serve the American public.

AFGE, which represents more than 700,000 workers in the federal government and the District of Columbia, hailed the deal to keep the government open, but expressed concern about a potential shutdown happening in just a few weeks’ time.

Message From Council 100 11/9/17Print

TSA Council 100Message From Council 100
11/9/17

TSA/NRC has decided to destroy our Contract and not allow 95% of the not agreed upon clauses in the current CBA ( The Yellow Areas) to proceed and be heard by a panel of 3 Neutrals. This is not Bargaining in Good Faith and has confirmed the fact that TSA Legal had no intention of ever addressing the Workers needs and improving working conditions at the Airports.
